Location

The Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen is at No. 7, Xiangshan Road, Luwan District in Shanhai City, It is a two-storey European-style building. It seems not noticeable among so many high buildings and mansions, but it has attracted lots of visitors since it was opened to the public in 1988. It is the Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen (also named Sun Wen), the great forerunner of the Chinese democratic revolution, the founder of the Republic of China and the respected contributor to Chinese modern history, where Mr. Here Sun Yat-sen worked and spent his late years.

Introduction
Sun Yat-Sen is known as the man who has founed modern China. He was born in 1866 in Xiangshan County (now Zhongshan City) in south China's Guangdong Province and died of illness in Beijing on March 12, 1925. Dr. Sun is known across the country as a "great revolutionary and statesman" that fought against feudalism and imperialist aggression and for the independence and freedom of the Chinese people. Sun Yat-Sen definitely has a few memorial museums, Mausoleum Parks, and former residences in China. The former residence of Sun Yet-Sen in Shanghai is an important memento of Sun Sun Yet-Sen. He stayed in there for six years.

The Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen is a two-storied western-style building, with a lawn and garden in front of it. The sitting room and the dining room are on the ground floor while the study, the bedroom and a smaller sitting room are upstairs.
The first room is a living room, with a great fire place and a huge picture of Sun Yet-Sen on top. The living room is decorated with a few ancient Chinese antiques. The room next door is his study room. The study room still has his desk and meeting table. There is a sword on top of the fireplace, which is presented to him by a Japanese General. It is said that the sword is 600 years old! And there is a balcony where we can look of out the house and have a good view of the British-style garden.

The third room is Sun Yet-Sen and his wife Song Qingling’s bedroom. There is a double bed with the mattress said to be the original one that they slept on those years. There are a few paintings and some decorations in the room that look very stunning. And visitors can also see some of his old uniforms, personal tools, and glasses.
